99.95% uptime without data loss: how we safeguard your availability

An offline website or lost data is not a theoretical risk, it's a real cost. Missed deals, frustrated customers, recovery work… At Calrissia we build your infrastructure so it never has to come to that.

Uptime: what exactly do we guarantee?

Our standard SLA guarantees 99.95% uptime. That means a maximum of 4.5 hours of planned or unplanned downtime per year. That is theory of course; in practice we aim for far less.

Automatic failover within the data center

Our VPS environments run on redundant infrastructure inside our Belgian data center. A node fails? Our system detects it automatically and your full environment is migrated to another node in the same data center within seconds. No manual intervention, nothing for you to do.

In the exceptional case that a full data center goes down, we start a manual failover procedure to a second Belgian location. We are transparent about that: we call you before you notice it yourself and keep you posted on the recovery time.

Need stronger guarantees?

For businesses with higher uptime requirements we offer custom service contracts with stricter SLAs, shorter intervention times and detailed reporting.

Backup strategy: your data is always safe

A good backup strategy is more than a daily copy. It's about where that copy lives, how fast you can fall back on it, and whether it stands up to the unexpected. Here is how Calrissia handles it.

The 3-2-1 backup rule explained

We apply a proven 3-2-1 backup strategy as standard on every VPS environment:

 • 3 copies of your data, always
 • 2 different storage media types, so a defect on one type cannot endanger your backups
 • 1 offsite copy, in a separate Belgian data center, physically separated from your primary environment

This protects you against hardware failure, ransomware, human error and on-site incidents.

Configurable backup schedule

Want more control? On our VPS environments you decide how often backups run, how long they're retained and when restores happen. We tune retention, frequency and recovery procedures to your RPO and RTO.

Shared web hosting backups

On shared web hosting plans we make 14-day backups by default. Something went wrong? We'll roll your environment back to a previous version, no questions asked.

Frequently asked questions about uptime and backups

RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is how much data loss you can accept, e.g. "we can lose at most 1 hour of data". RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is how quickly your system has to be back after an incident. We help you decide those parameters and align your backup strategy with them.
With automatic failover you're back online in seconds. For a manual restore from backup the recovery time depends on the size of your environment. We're always transparent about expected recovery times.
Yes. Every VPS environment at Calrissia ships with a backup strategy by default. The exact parameters — frequency, retention, offsite replication — are agreed with you.
